“Only a few days left until the release of ‘Stereo Crush,’ the new album by Gotthard, which will be available in stores from March 21. The Swiss rockers are releasing a single, ‘Drive My Car,’ a few days before, which can be heard here:
‘Two years ago, we were discussing possible cover songs in the rehearsal room when the idea for ‘Drive My Car’ came up. Since we are all big BEATLES fans, we got to work and started jamming, which immediately felt great. Fortunately, we own our own studio, so we recorded it soon after, and the result sounded better than we could have dreamed. At that time, we didn’t know where or how we should release the track, but when we intensified work on ‘Stereo Crush’ last year, its time had finally come: ‘Drive My Car’ fits seamlessly into our new album and was the last missing piece of the puzzle,’ notes guitarist Freddy Scherer.
‘Stereo Crush,’ recorded, produced, and mixed by long-time partner Charlie Bauerfeind, who has also worked with other scene giants like HELLOWEEN or BLIND GUARDIAN, together with GOTTHARD co-founder Leo Leoni at the Yellowhouse Studio, and mastered by Sascha ‘Busy’ Bühren (TrueBusyness), is already promising to set new standards.”
